Chef Eliani is one of the excellent executive chefs for the Pegasus Hospitality Group. She operates ‘The Exchange Café and Campus Catering” at the Rotman School of Business at the University of Toronto’s downtown campus. With her kitchen crew she feeds good wholesome international cuisine to upwards of 1000 people per day, including our current Prime Minister, and many renowned Canadian leaders in industry regularly. The cuisine she produces at the University encompasses all cultures that attend the school and more and frankly she does this with great ease. Watching Chef Eliani orchestrate her kitchen activities is magical!!
Eliani, who is from Pocos de Caldas, Minas Gerais in Brazil and is of Portuguese and Italian decent came to Canada in 1986. Lucky for the Toronto food scene that she decided to stay. Starting her Canadian experience at “French Sticks” in the Scotia Plaza then working at Mercatto Tratorria where she elevated the cuisine to a superior level where rock stars and politicians insisted on her food…….some of her favorites to cook for include Gene Simmons of KISS fame. The great Canadian chef Susur Lee still says she makes the best cheesecake in Toronto after trying her desserts when she became the executive chef for the renowned Copa Cabana Steakhouse in Toronto. After helping the Copa expand into offsite catering and assisting in the opening of their new locations Chef Eliani joined the Pegasus Hospitality Group and continues to impress as well as grow the Pegasus brand.
